How the Spa name came to be:
I was actually very set on not wanting my name in the title or to name it “Traci’s Nails” or “Traci’s Spa” or anything like that. But my hubby helped me with a clever play on words and spelling.
The first part of the spa name “Trai-Sea’s” is pronounced like my name Traci. The very first person I met when I moved to Cold Lake in 1994 - my bestest friend since day one has always called me “Trai” (prounounced “tray”) and always addressed letters & cards to Trai. I wanted my new Spa to be an Escape from stress and everyday hustle bustle for myself as well as our clients. I grew up in Victoria B.C. and I love and miss the ocean - the views, sounds of the waves and yes even the smell so I knew I wanted the name to have something to do with the ocean or sea.
Our Logo – The Lotus Flower:
The Lotus has long been revered for its ability to remain unsullied and pure, despite it’s environment. It has become a common symbol of remaining pure at heart and mind and striving to rise above it all.

I knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry the second I received my first makeup lesson at the age of 14. I pursued my career in Esthetics 10 years later at Alberta Academy of Aesthetics in Edmonton and graduated in 1994. I have experience in various settings: a hair salon with me being the only Esthetician/Nail Tech, working on my own in my home and then in a Spa setting working along side other Estheticians and Nail Techs.
Through the years I have furthered my education with courses and classes in my field as well as business, marketing and motivational seminars. I believe in learning new things and keeping up with the latest trends and techniques.
People often ask me what my favorite service to do is and I can never answer a specific service as my whole job is my favorite. I absolutely love making people look and feel good. It’s so rewarding to put smiles on people’s faces everyday. In mid November of 2012 I decided it was time to open my own Spa. Working quickly with the help of my amazing husband, family and friends, my dream of having my own Spa came true officially on January 2, 2013. Not realizing how busy the Spa would become and as quickly as it did, I needed to hire another esthetician asap.
Realizing quite quickly that word has spread of the “new spa in town”, the daily demand for other services was something we couldn’t offer in our little two room spa. Luckily the space next door became available a year later and the expansion and renovations began. Adding three more treatment rooms has been a great success. With the expansion came more staff and I have to say I have the best group of ladies I have the pleasure of working with everyday! I’m thrilled and excited to come to work daily to visit my amazing co-workers and clients who I feel are a wonderful group of friends and my second family.

I am both a Nail Technician and Eyelash Extensionist Technician. I've received my training and certification for Lash Extensions in July of 2014. I love the dramatic transformation eyelash extensions offers my clients.
I've been a Nail Technician since August of 2012 and received my training through one on one instruction through Nail Innovations. After I received my training I worked from my home on Elizabeth Settlement. It was difficult for me personally to balance my home, family and business, hence the reason I pursued a change and decided to join Traci in her Spa. I thoroughly enjoy meeting new clients and being able to express my artistic passion. Traci was actually one of the first nail techs who inspired me to pursue this career. it's such an honor to be a part of her team.

Hello, my name is Mellisa and I am proud to call Cold Lake home. I love to live an active lifestyle and you will always find me outside walking in the trails or on the mountains with my snowboard enjoying the outdoors. I believe that taking time to unwind and find balance is important for the mind, body and soul.I understand how busy and stressful life can be,it’s important to stop and take time for yourself.
I am the new Registered Massage Therapist at Trai-Sea’s Escape Spa.
I have completed my 3,000 hour program at Makami College in Edmonton, Alberta. I am educated in Hot Stones, Deep Tissue, Relaxation, Cupping, Therapeutic, Prenatal, Indian Head Massage and Myofascial Stretch massage. My goal is to have a positive trusting relationship with each of my clients. My mission is to heal each of my clients with their specific needs whether it be to relax, repair, or to just unwind guiding my client to relax their muscles as well as release tension in strained areas.

Hi! My name is Sherry Bodnar and I am the receptionist for the spa. I a wife of 34 years and a mother of
2 boys and the mother-in-law of an amazing daughter -in-law. I enjoy spending time with family and being at our cottage at Loon Lake.
The best part of my job is working with the great women at the spa and visiting with all the amazing clients that come in.
I love the fact that so many...myself included think of the spa as Home!
